20+ years of “agile” – and my (collaborative) writing career!

Lisa and one of her donkeys, Marsela

Lots of companies are using the 20th anniversary of a bunch of pale males signing the “Agile Manifesto” at Snowbird. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of the Manifesto, especially the principles. It’s amazing what such a non-diverse group was able to do. At the same time, I am not a fan of labels. There’s not a specific anniversary of what many people try to do – “do our best job at delivering products that delight our customers”.

Almost 20 years of enjoying donkeys, too!

Still, 20 years is a long time, and it’s also 20 years since my first “agile testing” paper & talk were accepted at the XP2001 conference! I collaborated with Carol Wade & Tip House. Tip presented it at XP2001 in Sardinia. It was reprinted in Upgrade magazine in 2002, see page 12!  My writing career really got going when Brian Marick (a Manifesto signer) gave me the chance to write this STQE Magazine article, “Extreme Rules of the Road“, which he edited, I’m still proud of these!

20 years of publishing articles, books, and more, almost always in collaboration with another great practitioner. I’ll definitely celebrate this!

  1. “Extreme Rules of the Road“ is a very good article even today! Enjoyed reading it.

Thank you, Lisa for all the great input we have got from you in the last 20 years… Congratulations and let’s keep heading to the Ocean… 😉
